Nice speed, but when are you going to slow down?
He grinned at her words, jumping over a fallen log and dodging around a tree. When are you going to speed up? he called back, winking at her in a teasing manner. Snorting, he ran faster despite his leg muscles starting to ache, but he ignored it and dodged a tree, the bark barely grazing his brown coat.

"I am, I'm trying!" She started to pump her legs faster, determined to get to Swifthoof's side. She quickly jumped over the log that Swifthoof went over and veered to the right of a tree in the way. Serenity was slowly gaining to Swifthoof's hindquarters, and then finally, right next to the chestnut colt. "See? Now I'm right next to you," she nickered playfully and pulled at his mane lightly.

He laughed as she appeared next to him and pulled his mane. Grinning, he pulled her mane in play before he spoke. Not for long he said, increasing his stride as he pulled ahead a little. Tossing his head he let out a neigh of happiness before looking back at Serenity, seeing if she would catch up again.

She shook her head and giggled before trying as hard as possible to catch up to him. I can do this, come on! Her nostrils flared as her stride increased, and she was soon at Swifthoof's side yet again. "Oh really?" A michievious smirk appeared on her face. She dashed ahead of him and turned her head to look back at the colt, whinnying in laughter. However, as she whirled her head around to look at the path, a low branched tree was quickly coming into view. Serenity tried as quick as possible to slide to a stop before she collided with the tree, and ended up having her head inches from the trunk. That was just TOO close, she thought and let out a sigh of relief.

The colt blinked in surprise as she appeared at his side yet again, but he couldn't help but smirk. She was fast, he had to admit. Seeing her pull ahead, he snorted in amusement before running faster to catch up to her when he saw a low branch appear that she was about to crash into. Swifthoof let out a whinny in warning before he saw her skid to a stop, her head inches from the trunk. He let out a sigh of relief before stopping beside her and giving her a nudge. You okay, Serenity? he asked, his head tilted in concern.

She looked at the chestnut colt and smiled faintly. "Yeah, sure I'm ok. Just a little shocked is all." She then shot a glare at the tree she almost bumped into and murmured, "Stupid tree and it's low branches." She walked away from it to the other side of Swifthoof. Her eyes were focused on the distance from here to the tree. "Let's continue with the race!"

At her words, the corners of his mouth lifted up in a smile as he shook his head. That's why you keep your eyes on the path ahead he said, grinning. Snorting, his ears pricked as she wanted to continue on with the race and he smirked. As the lady wishes he said and as soon as the words left his mouth, he took off, jumping over a rock before landing on even ground.

"Pfft, I was err...kind of keeping my eyes on- HEY!" She immediately took off after the spirited colt and laughed. This time, her eyes were staring ahead, focusing on the end; that tree. She converted her faster canter into a gallop and lengthened her stride. The mare cleared the rock that came up and dodged the trees, occasionally veering from left to right.

Hearing her words, he grinned. You were too busy looking at me, eh? I'm flattered he said, his brown eyes glinting in amusement. Tossing his head, he ran faster, his stride lenghtening as far as it would go as he started heading for the tree.

"Heh, I bet you are," she called and kept running, but it was pretty much useless now. Swifthoof was closer to the tree than her and she was starting to get tired. Yeeeeah, I'm not going to win this race, she thought, but continued galloping away anyway, wanting to catch up to him. She was by his hindquarters.

He chuckled at her words before sprinting ahead and reaching the tree. Skidding to a stop, he looked over at her before speaking. Not bad. You're pretty fast he said, his teeth flashing in a grin. A breeze blew by dropping a few leaves onto the ground and he smiled as he looked up at the autumn sky.

Serenity slowed her gallop to a canter, then trot when Swifthoof got to the tree. She finally came to a stop when she was next to the chestnut horse. "You're not so bad yourself. It looks like you were flying," she complimented as she drew breaths in and out and smiled. "Apart ftom that stupid tree, I enjoyed the run."

At her compliment, he chuckled. Thanks..I get that a lot he said, tossing his head. Snorting, his ears pricked at her next set of words and he grinned. Good. Me too he answered, his brown eyes going to the horizon as he looked around for dangers.

"Good, I'm glad you liked it too. I bet if that tree didn't get in the way, I would've beat you," she said with a smirk on her mouth and playfunlness twinkling in her eyes. "Anyway, so what else do you like doing?"
