The Story...
It seems only a short time ago that we all lead peaceful lives, oblivious to the other sentient beings in the world. It was those times of peace that seem so distant and so foreign now.
Humans lived lives as they always had - owning animals, driving vehicles, generally polluting and destroying their world. They had no idea of the things they missed. They had tame animals as pets, never really realizing what there really was out there.
Wild horses lived in herds, breedings, fighting and just existing. They fled from the humans, having no experiences except bad ones concerning two-legs.
Both species never really acknowledged each other in the world despite the small, fragile link between horse and rider...
Until it arrived.
At first it was just a mere storm, pelting the land with harsh rain, and striking many a tall tree alight with fire with a lightning bolt. Humans were not fazed much, setting up their storm surveillance and dealing with any damage. The wild ones continued to live like they always have, surviving storms as their ancestors did for thousands of years.
It began to cause more major storms - with floods, wild fires, and power outages. Humans began to take action and adjust. Horses adapted their living style. A demon made of black magic had been reawakened, and it's sole purpose was to take over.
And slowly, it evolved.
Before anyone really realized it, The Demon's path of chaos had turned into a series of disasters. Tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, wildfires, volcanic eruptions. There was mass panic, destruction and death.
And then... the unthinkable happened.
At first it was just distant emotions that the humans who owned horses felt. Distant emotions that seemed to link up to what their beloved pet seemed to be feeling. And then the soft whispers, too quiet to really understand. And then came the full speak, of horses crying out in unease and in panic as these disasters rained down from the heavens, both wild and tame.
The two species finally broke the language barrier between the two, and finally they could communicate. And the horses had such terrible tales, such horrible things to warn about that were too late now to prevent.
The Demon had already taken out telecommunications. The internet was demolished. Satellites rendered useless. One could not contact another across the country - and there was mass panic.
Herdlands had been demolished. Rivers began to flood, then dry up. Food became scarce, and plant life began to die off.
Governments collapsed.
Weak Horses succumbed to the elements.
People rioted.
People died.
Horses died.
And quietly, the Republic took control. The Republic was lead by a group of truly evil beings - humans and horses. And this group was lead by The Demon. By the time anyone realized what was happening, it was over. The Republic smothered whatever resistance it could, but still some avoided their control. By some miracle, they avoided The Republic's Control.
The Republic enslaved anyone who opposed them. They forced their enemies to be servants and to fight for their amusement. All hope seemed lost...
Until a group of those who managed to avoid, to escape that terrible control, made their presence known.
They called themselves the Resistance. They were made up of both humans and horses that fled away from the terrifying control of the Demon and his Republic. They sought a place where they were free, free to live without fear and be safe with their families.
The Republic seeks to destroy the Resistance. The Resistance seeks to somehow overthrow the Republic and free everyone from it's rule.
