Perfection, that is all that is acceptable here at Spence and that will not change even now that the nouveau's have joined the legacies.
The Back Story;;
Spence has been around for years, simply existing, far beyond reach of any normal or above normal people. Only the truly exceptional and wealthy students were permitted here with averages ranging between 96% and 100% so for the longest time this university only turned out the best. Everything was perfect here, the parents funded everything so everything was perfect of course, but this year the administrative board set their mind on allowing in students who didn't exactly come from wealthy families and let me tell you, the legacies were anything but pleased. They didn't want exceptional average people in their school, no, but the board members had their minds set on it so the legacies were powerless for once. So all they could do was sit back and deal with the fact that new students would be attempting to take over their school.
The Social Scene;;
If the board members expected the nouveau's to simply blend in they were completely wrong. Even though the nouveau's outnumbered the legacies they are still the underclass and the legacies rule this school because they have the power, the money and the influence. In the halls they might mix well but if you look close you can see the groups, the looks and the hatred. The legacies are not impressed and are silently sizing up the nouveau's. This year is a trial year for the nouveau's so if it doesn't work then life will return to normal next year. So lets just say that things could get interesting this year.
The Dirty Details;;
Even though teachers are told not to play favorites and never used to they do seem to this year, leaning towards the legacies just as everything else does. The dorms for the legacies are nicer and more spacious, the legacies got special treatment and so much more, they literally rule this school. It's enough to drive a nouveau crazy! Especially the titles the cliques got, nouveau was a title pined on them by the legacies the second they were accepted into Spence. So what will the nouveau's do about it?
