The Story
There was a time when we were normal...
But that is distant past.
There was a time when we were one big herd...
But then they Came.
So now we are Three, and our Hatred is one...
Join us, and become a Demon Horse!
But that is distant past.
There was a time when we were one big herd...
But then they Came.
So now we are Three, and our Hatred is one...
Join us, and become a Demon Horse!
The Humans have long ago died off. But not before sending two of every breed of horse on a fleet of ships. Those horses were the purest, and best of their bred. Some of the pairs were both mare, or both studs, and a few were a mare and a stud. But that doesn't matter. There are a lot of mixed breeds now, purebreds are rare. But of course, we are talking at least two hundred years later. Anyways, the horses were dropped off at a island, the Island of Fire as many would come to call it later. It was huge, letting all the horses and ponies be allowed plenty of space. We started out as one big herd with many families in it. And we stayed like that up until now really.
Lots of the ponies died. A lot actually didn't make it even to the main Island. Most the survivors were horses, a few very hardy ponies got through. Unknown to them, the predators on the island were much more, complicated than them. The went on, as the human race and everything else died off in the rest of the world. For some reason, this Island and it's occupants were immune. Even then new horses.
The first fifty years, the horses had a very hard time. And then they started changing, adapting to the predator's advantages. Horses began developing horns, wings, even powers in which to defend themselves with. Some were more complex than others. And they lived on, begining the Legacy of the Three.
The Three were stallions born actually Eight years ago. They were Singollo, the leader of Lenwë or the Light. Huor, the leader of the Felagund or the Neutral. And Gwindor, the leader of the Taurnil or Dark. Singollo was smart colt, second in the ranking. He was a mahogany bay, no markings to taint his coat. Dark brown eyes filled with understanding, and kindness. The same color as his coat, fifteen foot wings, spreading from his withers. Singollo was master at Illusions, any kind. He could make you think that there was fire raging all around you, and you feel like there was heat. Oh, he could do terrible things, but yet he could also make you feel at peace if you were dying in pain. With this power, Gwindor would soon corrupt Singollo's mind to use him. Gwindor was born a steel grey, slightly blue hue actually. His eyes were light blue, almost white. He was the master of fires. He make fire appear on a lake, or any water for that matter. But he needed Singollo's power, to make the fire appear, for he could only really heat a specific spot on the water. Other than that, Gwindor had no fear, he used this power to frighten younger foals all the time, with Singollo's help. He could also make his whole frame become fire, using that to travel, and go faster, also to spread fire quickly. And now for poor Huor. Huor was used by the two all the time. He was born with a horn, four feet long of the most beautiful reds in it. He was a chestnut, the color of flames, and his eyes shone of golds. His horn, he could use to travel. He could send other horses somewhere as well, but not him and the other horse at the same time. His horn become a deadly weapon as well, keeping about a four foot radius of safety around himself. Huor wasn't smart like the other two, but he knew that he put loyalty to both, which in the end brought him to be the neutral one, with Singollo and Gwindor both begging him to come to their side when sides were created.
When they were three years, Gwindor used Singollo to make a young mare fall in love with him. Singollo liked the mare as well, but didn't say anything, as he created Illusions around her, to make love Gwindor. Singollo felt sorry, but his heart had been chained, and the ends were with Gwindor, who expertly wielded them. He set to work, and the next day the mare was in belief that she loved Gwindor. Singollo soon began to feel as if his energy was being drained all the time. He constantly had to stay near the mare, and had to let the Illusions go during the night, when Gwindor didn't know. The dappled grey was soon back to using Singollo to torture horses who didn't follow his ways. Huor was used to send them to a series of islands that they couldn't get off of.
Gwindor wanted the horses to remember that it was the Humans who brought them there, so that they would live. He wanted them to remember that they had been pure when they came. Gwindor wanted only the purest to bred, but yet he wanted a mare who only had a little of the blood he mostly carried. Some horses thought he was going insane, others believed he was right, and some just didn't care. Gwindor was convinced that greater powers would be created by having purer horses. Some horses he killed just for having too many different bloods running through them. Others weren't even sure what ran through their veins. And then there were the horses who were mostly a specific breed. These he cherished, and used as examples of having greater power. Singollo was one of those. He was most of Draft breeds, with a touch of thoroughbred. Where as Gwindor had Arab, Spanish Mustang, Quarter Horse, and some other breed that we don't know about. Huor was mostly Warmblood, with some Welsh pony and Haflinger pony. Unknown to Singollo, Gwindor worshiped him, and his power. Where ever Singollo was, Gwindor was normally there, and using him as an example to other horses. It made many mares begin to trail Singollo, they saw hims as dangerous, and desirable. That made Gwindor slightly irritable. Luckily, Singollo never really paid those mares much attention. He was to busy looking up to Gwindor.
Finally a year later, Singollo stumbled on Gwindor beating the mare, and he realized it was because those Illusions were beginning to wear off. She had realized the danger. Singollo, weak from the trying to hold the Illusions had no defense. Gwindor turned on him, yelling that he had done this on purpose, and then made fire rage all around Singollo, letting leap at his former friend. Huor charged at the grey, and whacked him hard with the side of his horn, sending the stallion to one of the larger islands off the coast of their main island. Singollo sighed, the fire no longer there. He thanked Huor, who snorted, and said angrily, " I didn't do it for you or anyone else. Now there is no one to be the leader of me." Singollo blinked and watched as Huor sent himself to a different island, and left him with the mare who stared at the empty spot where Gwindor had been. "Is he dead?" She asked, and then started, as if realizing that Singollo was there for the first time. "No," He answered softly. She looked at him. " I am Arnatuil, " She said shyly, and Singollo knew that this was a mare who would follow him to the edge of the world. But strangely, he felt nothing but a want to help for the Gypsy cob, Arab, and Thoroughbred mare.
Arnatuil did follow Singollo, she became his second in command, as much as she wanted to be his lead mare. Huor came to be the leader of the Neutral, on the Island of Freedom. On the Island of Demons, Gwindor ruled the Dark. And on the Island of Dreams, Singollo and Arnatuil began to find those who basked in Light. The Island of Fire, became home of the herds, the family herds of the three main herds. On the separate Islands, the leaders of these herds rule.
Gwindor hates Singollo, Singollo hates no one really, and Huor hates them both. Huor is willing to wait till they are both uterly defenseless from fighting each other, but that might take years. Will Singollo and Gwindor have to join together again to take Huor down if decides to attack? Or will Huor side with one of them, and bring down the other side? Is Arnatuil going to achieve her goal of being the lead mare of Singollo, or will someone else butt in? These are your choices.
