Out on your own
Moonlight bathed the land in silver as a young bay mare slowly picked her way up the mountain, the cool breeze ruffling her charcoal mane and tail. A light snort escaped her nostrils as her jade eyes flicked around for dangers. Satisfied, she kept going, carefully positioning her hooves and body weight so she wouldn't slip. Auds pricked at the sound of crumbling rock below and she gulped, feeling nervous. Then almost in habit, her mind flashed images of blood, a fiery stallion and of her falling off a cliff. She shivered, disturbed.
Cold and alone, again
Shaking her head, she kept going until she felt even ground and a small sigh of relief escaped her. She didn't know why, but she loved the challenge of climbing the mountain especially the hardest part. Tossing her head, she breathed in the cool mountain air, feeling comforted despite some brief, violent images probing the back of her mind.

It's down to this I've got to make this life make sense Can anyone do what I've done I missed life I missed the colors of the world Can anyone go where I am
His back stood towards the Cimarron territory. The red stallion did not know where he was nor did he care. He had been traveling for weeks and he looked like he hadn’t had a good night sleep in years. His coat was cut and scared, bruised and beaten, but one would look past that and just see how fiery red he was. It was as if he was of fire, his hide was so red. His mane and tail were equally red but his eyes were the softest brown anyone could ever look in to.
'Cause now again I've found myself So far down, away from the sun That shines into the darkest place I'm so far down, away from the sun again Away from the sun again
The red stallions head hung low, his muzzle close to the ground. He was absolutely still except for his eyes blinking slowly. His breath came and went just as slowly and he would watch his breath as it showed in the cool mountain air. Shetan sighed softly and heard the sound of crumbling rock. First his ears pricked to it and then he slowly raised his head to look behind him. His eyes were that of a dreary, battle worn warrior as if he had no fight left in him but this was quite the contrary. There was plenty of fight left in this stallion though he didn’t feel like one at the moment.
I'm over this I'm tired of living in the dark Can anyone see me down here The feeling's gone There's nothing left to lift me up Back into the world I've known
Shetan watched behind him for a long moment, not moving to face the intruder. He would take it one step at a time but his mind kept wandering back to his homeland…the one he detested so much. The blazing fire that engulfed it didn’t seem enough to kill off his memories of the past. Shetan closed his eyes as his fathers’ agonizing screams of pain filled his head. Get out…just leave me alone…please dad…just let me be. The red stallion waited until the screams in his head disappeared into the furthest parts of his mind. He knew they would return sooner or later to haunt him but he prayed it would be later.
'Cause now again I've found myself So far down, away from the sun That shines into the darkest place I'm so far down, away from the sun That shines the life away from me To find my way back into the arms That care about the ones like me I'm so far down, away from the sun again
Shetan opened his eyes and caught sight of a mare…his guard had been let down during that brief moment of flashbacks but she hadn’t seemed to notice him yet. The red stallion kept his back turned to the mare but kept his keen eyes on her. His body felt an urge to fight that he quickly fought back…it was a feeling he often felt but had somewhat learned to control it. The mare was young and a bay. She seemed happy to be up in the mountains and Shetan couldn’t blame her. The mountains were a good place to get away from everyone…well, if no one is already up there.
It's down to this I've got to make this life make sense And now I can't do what I've done
And now again I've found myself So far down, away from the sun That shines the life away from me
Softly, Shetan nickered to the mare in greeting. He didn’t want to scare her but he did want her to know that he was behind her. He dared not move, knowing that any movement could be taken as a threat and the last thing he wanted now was a fight.
'Cause now again I've found myself So far down, away from the sun That shines into the darkest place I'm so far down, away from the sun That shines the life away from me To find my way back into the arms That care about the ones like me I'm so far down, away from the sun again

Another sigh escaped the mare as she tossed her head, her charcoal colored mane caressed by the wind. A soft snort exited her nostrils as she lowered her head to graze when a nicker reached her ears. Out of habit, she tensed and turned around rather sharply to see a fiery red stallion. Her emerald pools narrowed a bit in suspicion, but she shrugged it off yet still kept her guard up. Who are you? she asked, her tone holding a hint of curiousity.

Shetan watched her for a moment after her question and then turned his head out of her view. A soft sigh escaped him as he let his head hang once more.
"Just a lost soul on a mountain top..."
His reply was spoken softly, as if not wanting her to hear but loud enough she could hear it. With what seemed to be great effort, Shetan turned slowly around to face the mare but did not approach her.
"I am Shetan."

Slender hooves touched the Cimarron Lands in a bouncy prance of balance, as along the slender legs, creamed ivory socks climbed up her legs and stopped by the knee, which turned into a rich chestnut pelt of smooth shimmering lust. Nearly like a red-hawks wing.
Flaxen mane of gold catching wind and perhaps even sitting on it's back as it waved over her perked ears until it died down and fell lazily over her shoulder. Once again white blazed on her slender muzzle, above her green emerald eyes which looked upon the land curiously.
Lean body slowed down, long raised tail slapping her rump at the bugging pests which hovered around any horse. She stopped and flared her pink nares, before she stretched her crested neck with squeak and she went on gazing at the mountains with sharp movements.
With a threaded hibiscus flower waving it's delicate presence to the wind, thick crimson red which stood out with her painted markings on each side of under her green eyes, left red, right blue she blinked and slowed her gait into relaxed walk as her eyes caught on a pair of gender.
She tilted her head and shyly moved closer, tossing her head and nickered out a fair greeting, her feminine voice rather tender and soft as she stopped strides away.
The mare didn't want to intrude, perhaps they were busy. She Rather wait until she was invited to come over.
She watched inattentively, as she began to come over how she would greet them. Name first? Or Hello? Her name would be Love's Melody, or should she just say Melody?
She sighed her chest heaved as she thought and waited.

Just a lost soul on a mountain top..
The mare tilted her head at his answer before hearing his name. Shetan. Her jade eyes narrowed at the name. It sounded..familiar in a strange way and this stallion somehow seemed familiar to her too. As though she had met him before even though she knew she hadn't. Shaking her head, she nodded in greeting, a small smile crossing her features. I'm Katori she answered. Her charcoal tipped ears soon flicked toward a nicker and she turned her head to see a mare standing a few feet away. Katori nickered back in greeting to her, a smile appearing on her maw.

Shetan kindly nodded his head in greeting to Katori and then a sound intrested his ears. At the sound of the nicker, Shetan's soft brown eyes suddenly grew in redness, like a soft glowing fire suddenly bursting into a huge flame but as soon as it appeared, it dissappeared behind his soft brown eyes. There was an ever glowing flame burning in his eyes though now it was soft but unmistakable there. Something was hidden behind his eyes.
Shetan looked to the mare, his eyes soft brown and nickered in greeting, seeing she was nervous. He didn't know if she was Cimarron or not but he also didn't know if either of them knew he was not Cimarron but a rogue.

The bay's emerald gaze soon turned back to the fiery colored stallion, her head slightly tilted in curiousity. Usually, she wasn't this interested in strangers, preferring to stay aloof and distant, but there was something about Shetan that seemed..familiar. Shaking her head, she soon said. Are you a rouge or a Cimarron member? she asked, the question aimed at both of them.

OOC: I hate to flood but I don't know if Melody is playing anymore or not.... Shetan's tired, weary eyes were pulled back to Katori as she spoke. The red stallion stared at her, though he was really looking beyond her, his mind focused on the question. Then as if suddenly pulled back into reality, he shook his head, his eyes becoming more alert to the world around him.
"Oh.... I am a rogue. I have been one all my life..." His voice sounded so strange and distant to himself... it sounded so tired and weary, Shetan didn't feel like it was his own voice but he tried his best to focus on the company he had. "And you?"
