Flooding is when you basically ignore someone in a thread...it's really bad, annoying, and discourteous. And it's rather hard to explain what it is without giving an example, so an example I will give.
Let's say that Blacky, Suzy, and Fluffy are in a RP thread. Now, this thread has just been started, and the posting order goes like this:
Blacky Suzy Fluffy Suzy Blacky Fluffy
Pretty ok. But then, people have to go to bed. The next day, Blacky can't get online, but Suzy and Fluffy can. So they continue to post in the thread as such:
Suzy Fluffy Suzy Fluffy Suzy Fluffy
And so on. Then Blacky comes back online...poor Blacky, he's been completely kicked out of the thread! The other characters have rendered him blind, deaf, and mute.
In other words, FLOODING IS A FORM OF POWERPLAYING.
To prevent this from happening, you should not post in a RP thread until every other character in that thread has posted already. To clarify, a good posting order would be like this:
Blacky Suzy Fluffy Blacky Suzy Fluffy
Not that hard, right? Oh, I know what you're asking right now.\
What if Candy wants to jump in?
Then Candy can just jump in. It'd go on like this:
Blacky Suzy Fluffy Blacky Suzy Fluffy Candy Blacky Suzy Fluffy Candy Blacky Suzy Fluffy Candy
Now, this isn't a strict set-in-stone formula that you have to follow, and I won't go evil on you if you don't stick to it exactly. But still, try to keep flooding to a minimum, and be courteous to everyone else.
