Description: The leaders of the herd. They are in charge, and make all the decisions, but they are also responsible for the herd's well-being. The stallion is usually the leader, with the lead mare being his mate, but if there is no lead stallion, the lead mare can be in charge. They can remain leaders until they die, or they can choose to retire at any point and let the heirs take over.
