The bay mare watched as Sunlight stood protectively over her newborn and she flared her nostrils, smelling that the cougar was still prowling around in the area. Looking over to Lucian, he met her eyes and nodded in affirmation. Tossing her head, she began trotting the edges of the grove, her eyes and ears flicking for any signs of the cougar. If the cat was willing to take on four full grown horses, it must be starving to try and take the foal despite it being protected. Snorting, she spotted Shetan beneath an old oak and made her way toward him. Nickering, she stopped beside him. I'm guessing your nap went well? she asked, a small smile crossing her muzzle as her ears were alert for their surroundings.

Sunlight Streaming watched the horses around her and watched her young filly trying to take her steps. She chuckled as her filly bucked but fell down. She nuzzled the filly with a smile. "It's alright baby," she stated with a smile. The filly looked up at her mother and bobbed her head. The filly rose back on all four legs and managed to stamp her foot in frustration.
Sunlight Streaming smiled and looked towards Lucian. "Thank you," Sunlight stated with a smile.

'I'm guessing your nap went well?'
An ear pricked to the familiar voice of Katori and Shetan looked over at her, giving her a soft smile. He was doing much better now, not feeling the nagging of his father soul. At least he could take the moment to be at peace.
"As well as it could have... What about you and your father? Did that go well?"
The red stallion couldn't help but allow his eyes to flick to the stallion that had threatened to be between Shetan & Katori.

Lucian walked through the forest, pausing every now and then to sniff the air for any signs of the cougar. From what he could smell, the cougar was most likely still waiting for an oppertunity to attack the foal. Let it try.. he thought, tossing his head as he turned and began walking back to the others. His ears pricked to Sunlight's words and he smiled, nodding before he lowered his head to graze.
As well as it could have... What about you and your father? Did that go well? Hearing Shetan's question, a small sigh escaped her muzzle as she shrugged. As well as it could have, I guess... she answered, flicking her eyes toward Lucian who had raised his head and looked in their direction. Snorting, he shook his head before going back to his grazing. Her gaze then shifted to the foal who had stood and stamped her little hoof in frustration. A smile crossed her muzzle before she looked at the ground in thought, watching as the grass gently swayed from side to side by a gentle breeze. Without looking at Shetan, she soon spoke. Shetan...do you think I would make a good mother? she asked, her voice low as she flicked her eyes back to the filly.[/blockquote]

Sunlight Streaming smiled as she watched her little filly bolt forward but she fell. "You silly filly," she cooed with a smile as she decided to help the filly stand back up. Daughter of the Sun's tail twitched as she whinnied. Her little tail corkscrewed and she took a few steps forward.

'As well as it could have, I guess...'
Shetan's eyes followed her gaze as Katori glanced to Lucain. The red stallion's eyes narrowed at the stallion, but soon his soft gaze retunred to his mate, who now seemed focused on something else. Following her gaze, Shetan realized she was watching the newborn foal, and a soft smile came to his muzzle. 'Shetan...do you think I would make a good mother?' Ears pricking to her words, Shetan looked to her in a bit of surprise at the question, not expecting such a one. But Shetan could easily and quickly answer that question, nuzzling Katori's muzzle.
"You will make a wonderful mother someday. Perhaps... a mother to... our child."

Katori watched the foal as the little one managed to bolt forward before falling again. A small chuckle escaped her at the sight as the foal stood up again and took a few steps forward.
Shetan's touch made her glance back at him as her ears pricked at his answer. You will make a wonderful mother someday. Perhaps... a mother to... our child . She couldn't help but blink in surprise then her gaze soon turned warm and soft as she nuzzled his neck. I'd like that.. she answered, her tone soft and her mind couldn't help but wander toward the future as she pondered what their future foal would look like. No doubt it would be a mixture of them. Maybe with her looks but with Shetan's personality or vice versa. Guess I'll have to wait and see.. she thought, a tiny smile appearing on her face. Lucian watched the pair out of the corner of his eye and he couldn't help but be envious of their relationship. It seemed like not too long ago when he met his love, Sonya for the first time. Unfortunately, she had been from a rival herd that his herd were warring against for claim of their land. But that didn't stop the two from meeting each other in secret and as soon as they were old enough, they ran off together. Of course, it had been hard to part from their homelands but it was the only thing that would allow them to be together. The following year, Katori had been born and it was the most happiest moment in his life. Too bad it didn't last long. Getting off of Memory Lane, he tossed his head, a deep and quiet sigh escaping him before he began to graze again, his senses alert. [/blockquote]

Sunlight Streaming watched Katori and her love. She was slightly envious. She had a love just like theirs, but fate took him away. She directed her attention back to the young filly. At least she still had part of her love. Daughter of the Sun squealed angrily as she stood back on all fours and bobbed her head. She moved forward and stayed standing. Sunlight smiled and nickered encouragement. She noticed how alert Lucian was. Was the cougar still near? Or was he just taking precautions? She pricked her ears and kept her eyes on her little filly.

..~Do you ever think about running away~.. ..~'cause i was thinkin' about leavin' today~.. ..~We'll follow forever where our hearts wanna go~.. ..~Maybe we'll live somewhere where nobody knows our names~.. ..~Then things might change for the good~..
Shetan couldn't help but feel his heart fluttering with love at Katori's touch; the only one in the world who could tame his fiery spirit. He could feel the watchful eye of her father on them at all times, but the red stallion could care less. Still, being respectful that it was Katori's father, Shetan would tread lightly, not wanting to wedge himself between thier family matters. The stallion's ears pricked to the foal as she squealed in anger, but was soon on her way to walking about. He couldn't help but smile at the accomplishment, and nickered in congratulations to the foal, trying to keep her confidence up. Eyes averting to the sky, Shetan felt a need arising in him; a need to run, to get away from those watchful eyes; but more importantly to run with Katori. Nipping Katori's mane playfully, Shetan tossed his head for her to follow him.
"Come on, Katori. Let's go somewhere."
Rearing into a gallop, the fiery red stallion took off through the forests, a daring glance laid to Lucain if he followed. Again, Shetan was treading as lightly as he would allow himself, but made sure to prove that he would do anything for Katori, and anything to keep her love.
..~I wanna be somewhere so far away~.. ..~To lie under the night at the end of another good day~.. ..~I can't tell you how long we'll be gone~.. ..~But as long as we're together then forever's never too long~.. ..~Too long, oh no~..

An angry squeal from the foal met her ears and she glanced toward her to see her finally manage to stand on her own. A small smile crossed her faced before she too let out a nicker of encouragement to the little one.
Come on, Katori. Let's go somewhere A nip to her mane and Shetan's words caused her to look over at him, a mischievous gleam in her eyes. Grinning, she reared and took off after him appearing beside the fiery stallion a few moments later. She hoped that her father wouldn't follow, but she knew that he wouldn't. Even he could see that she needed her own space. Snorting, she tossed her head before giving Shetan's neck a playful nip as she lengthened her stride to surge ahead. Betcha you can't catch me, slow poke! she said, sticking out her tongue at him teasingly as she picked up her pace her black mane and tail flying out behind her. Lucian had merely watched with mild interest as the pair took off into the woods. It was no use trying to follow and it would be pointless anyway. They were young and in love and they needed their own space. A small snort escaped his nostrils as he looked up to the sky, watching as the clouds passed him by in the blue abyss. A small breeze then came through, ruffling the leaves of the trees and his nose then caught the scent of horses and he supposed those were other herd horses and made to drop his head back down to graze when he froze, his ears pricking forward as more scents mixed in. Is that..human scent? he thought raising his head as he looked around, eyes narrowed. [/blockquote]

Betcha you can't catch me, slow poke!
Shetan watched in surprise as Katori bolted ahead of him, that fiery determination glinting in the red stallion's eyes as a grin came across his muzzle.
"We'll see about that!"
Tearing into the ground, the red stallion ducked and dove through the forest, hot on Katori's flank. It was these times Shetan got to enjoy just being himself and it was these times he felt the least of his father's soul. Soon, Shetan was matched with her speed, neck and neck with her. Looking at her, he stuck his tongue out in much the way she had and bucked-galloped ahead of her, calling back as he did,
"Who's the slow poke now!"
'Let's go catch us a wild one...'
Hooves thundered across the plains as a strong, fit bay stallion galloped for the small forest. A group of horses had been spotted here, and new recruits were very likely. The leader of the pack was Ikusa, his rider, the Colonol, sitting atop his back. It was a group of five, enough to take on and take down a horse or two. They were coming, ropes ablazing...
