Can't we go now?
The black stallion chuckled darkly, a vapor of evil seeming to wisp from his maw, the last of the cool air. His daughter had much to learn... So very much in so little time...
"No. The black sky of the Night is the only map the Tomahawks use. You can't see the map, Fala, but you'll learn it... Many of our kind use the sun as their compass. We use the moon. The night air is crisp and chilling. It keeps us lively and energized, such as for a fight. It hides our presence until we desire to be seen. The Night is our sole friend and it will be a dear one to the Tomahawks' future."
Demon stepped over a fallen cactus, bloody-colored eyes not even glancing back to see if his daughter was to hit it or sense it, nor did he open his mouth to speak of it... She'd have to learn on her own. Except for what really mattered, to Demon that is.

Fala listened to her father's words, but she understood little. "But it gets cold," she said in a half-whisper, fearful lest she say something that disappointed him. She trotted after him, before bumping into something hard and prickly. The filly let out a yelp of surprise and pain, cursing herself for not smelling the cactus earlier. She didn't want to appear weak before her father, though, so she quickly gathered herself and cleared the fallen cactus with a single bound. The landing was messy, her legs shaking, but it didn't take her long to be trotting after Demon again. "Does Alasi have a daughter my age?" She asked innocently.
