"No. Unless you want to."
Gypsy considered that, flicking his tail. Stars above, would those flies ever relent? It was the middle of the night, for crying out loud. Below them, resting in the shadow of the sand dune, a form moved. The pinto tilted his head, watching as a scorpion -- seriously, what was up with these scorpions? -- scurried across the sands. A coyote howled again, and this time he was answered a few minutes later by a chorus of ghostly howls. The wind shifted, blowing the stench of dead snake right into his nostrils. He frowned, ears flattening.
"I don't know," he said at last, ducking his head down to scratch his muzzle on a foreleg. "I have a band to look after. Usually we try not to travel too far away from each other." He was more comfortable traveling with horses he knew, after all, and he didn't know these two strange stallions. They hadn't even exchanged names yet.

Itachi's ears pricked to the chorus of the many yips and howls of the distant coyotes. In his opinion, he liked dealing with coyotes better than wolves. They were a bit smaller, if not a little longer than their wolven brethren, but from what he saw the predators mostly like catching small game like mice and rabbit. Flicking his gaze to the sky, he watched the stars blink coldly in the indigo sky as the wind brought the smell of death to his nose. It was such a lovely night although he doubted that the tovero felt the same.
I don't know. I have a band to look after. Usually we try not to travel too far away from each other He watched as Darcia's ears pricked forward before the blue roan responding with a small nod. Of course. Your band must come first after all. For some reason, Itachi half expected him to bow his head in understanding, but he knew it would never happen. As far he saw, Darcia had never bowed to anyone in his life and he doubted he was going to start now. Darcia snorted and looked to the horizon again watching as the sky was starting to lighten with the rising sun. Morning, already? he thought, a brief flicker of surprise flashing across his face before it was gone. Time really did fly. [/blockquote]

"Of course. Your band must come first after all."
The pinto nodded. "I'm glad you understand." He glanced at the sky, where the sun was just beginning to break above the horizon, and he couldn't surpress a yawn. It wasn't the first time he had stayed up talking all night, and he didn't mind sleeping during the day. "Well," he said, stretching a hindleg and tossing his mane, "the night seems to have robbed me of sleep. I'll be on my way now; it was nice to talk." And with that, he trotted down the sand dune and off in a random direction, not caring where his feet led him, just so long as he could get some rest soon.

Darcia only nodded in response at Gypsy's words and mismatched eyes followed the stallion as he made his way down the dune and back to his normal life. As for the roan, it was time for him and Itachi to begin their little hunt. Him for his long, lost herd members and Itachi for his brother. What a reunion it would make. Hopefully bloody too thought the roan as his sharp incisors showed in a grin. Nodding to Itachi, he reared and took off to the northern horizon, his faithful chestnut servant behind him. A small chuckle left him as he galloped toward his delightful revenge. ((And...that's a wrap ^^))
