As Wachiwi banished herself from the Darksun herd, she had begun to walk slowly away and into neutral lands. With her forehead injured from Coldheart's hoof, she was marked. The curved wound had healed over in a rough-looking dark scar, somewhat shaped like a crescent.
For a month she wandered the plains, as summer slowly cooled into brisk autumn. The summer grasses had begun to fade from brilliant green to sickly yellow. The small filly had come to the borders of Cimarron territory some two weeks before, though she remained barely on the fringes of the edge of their lands, grazing quietly and alone. She had seen a few yearlings come close towards her, ears pricked and eyes bright with curiosity, only to be called back to the herd by their wary dams. She hadn't even glimpsed the infamous leaders of the herd, Spirit and Rain. For now she would continue as such, grazing idly and waiting to be approached by one of the herd...

Making out of the desert safe and sound, Symphony lead the Forgotten band onward into the grasslands. A cool breeze hit the four horses mane and danced in the wind simultaneously. They spent the day grazing on the almost dead grass that soon would be covered with snow when the time came.
Symphony smiled at the sight. He ran over to his brother and playfully pulled at Canon's mane and started play chasing as if they were foals again. Izzi raised her head from grazing and noticed a mare in the distance. She nudged her mate, Apollo, for him to have a look. He gave a nicker to show there presence.
Symphony stopped at Apollos sound and looked over. He saw the mare and kept a watch on her as he tackled his brother to the ground, careful not to hurt him. Canon was having great fun and didn't even notice the newcomer.

She spooked at a small band of horses grazing some distance from herself, she hadn't even noticed them until one of them (presumably a stallion, she couldn't quite tell from her position) neighed a greeting. Blowing out her nostrils, the tricolored filly shook her mane. She hadn't so much as glimpsed another horse since her self-banishment from Darksun. She only hoped this band was friendly, and would take her in, even if just for the winter. She was cautious, though, as she began a slow approach towards the four strangers. Her previous encounter with a strange horse helped her get a hoof to the face. Hey, she spoke as she got closer, trying to stay nonchalant.

Apollo was going to answer the mare, but turned his head to Symphony and nickered to him to show the horse was coming closer. Symphony got off of Canon from his last tackle, and walked next to Apollo. He stood tall, and answered "Hello! I am Symphony, leader of the Forgotten band." He looked for a reaction and spoke again. "May I ask for you name?" Izzi stood behind Apollo and smiled at the mare to show that they were friendly, not knowing if the mustang was of the same nature.

She was so relieved that these horses seemed friendly, and that they were in fact the Forgotten Band, that she pranced ever so slightly as she gave her name with a proud toss of her head. They call me Wachiwi...Watch for short, she responded. The sudden movement combined with the residual unsteadiness offered by her old head injury made her dizzy and weak, she sank to her knees slowly as not to further hurt herself. Looking up to Symphony, the leader, she tried to keep her head from moving as she reeled from the dizzy spell. Symphony...sir...I was banished from the Darksun herd at the end of summer. Young and wounded as I am, may I join your Forgotten Band? she asked softly, the world slowly not shaking as much. The piebald filly carefully and unsteadily got to her feet, blowing slightly at the sudden exertion. She could only hope now...

The Gray stallion watched the filly stand back up. Darksun herd? Symphony had only heard the name once before, and all he knew of them was that were not the nicest group to run into. "You may join up with us if you would like." He gave a big smile "And you don't need to call me sir. Symphony will do." He wanted her to feel comfortably in his band.
Then Apollo spoke. "I am Apollo. And the albino is my mate Izzi." Izzi gave a smile and came closer. Canon was hiding in back of Symphony. Symphony side stepped to reveal his brother. "I-I'm Canon....." He said almost in a whisper. Symphony rolled his eyes and and spoke to the filly. "Welcome to the Forgotten Band, Watch!"

Wachiwi heaved a great sigh of relief. Shaking herself briefly, she pricked her ears forward and did a little bow...more like an incline of her muzzle. Well met, the filly smiled warmly, nodding to the four members in turn, though Symphony's brother, Canon, seemed to strike a chord somewhere deep inside her. Wachiwi cast a quick glance around the yellowing grassland. So...what does the Forgotten Band do for fun? she asked, swishing her tail in the breeze.

The band stood dumbfounded at the filly's question. They never really had much fun. They enjoyed each other company, but mostly they traveled around a lot. "Um, I'm not sure" Symphony finally replied, looking at the others for help. Apollo spoke up, "We mostly just travel around. We just left the desert a couple days ago." Canon then stepped up and said, "We can't afford to have fun when there is so much out to get us!" Symphony rolled his eyes at his brother, and smiled then asked Watch, "What do you like to do for fun?"
ooc//lol my siggy is what they look like when they look dumbfounded....to perfect.

She paused. Her own question tossed back to her.
That's...difficult to say. A Darksun definition of fun is training til your hooves fall off, Watch trailed off, smiling sheepishly back at the quartet.
I suppose this will do! she announced, and nudged Symphony with her muzzle, wheeling and galloping off across the plains, mane and tail trailing gracefully after her. You're it, Boss-man! she neighed, laughing.
Wachiwi half-reared playfully, pivoting on her hindlegs to turn a small circle on the ridge. She glimpsed a grey figure to her immediate right, and stopped abruptly. Ears pricked forward in curiosity, Watch whickered a greeting to the strange grey horse. The dapple grey spooked slightly, flicking their own ears towards the tricolored filly. The grey horse approached with caution, apprehensive of strange horses, no matter how friendly they may seem.
Hi, Watch greeted the horse as they approached, discovering the horse to be a young mare. An angry scar marred her front foreleg, leaving the mare with a slight hitch in her gait. Are you a rogue? she asked, tilting her head slightly to the side.
Nevada (for that was the mare's name) eyed this strange filly with a critical eye. Small and delicately-boned, she was a pretty young horse, with her brown and blue eyes and tricoloration. She cast a glance to the four horses just beyond where she and the filly stood: she recognized them, of course. Symphony and his Forgotten Band. This young filly must have been a new member. They call me Nevada, she relinquished her name after a moment's silence.

Symphony smiled at the site of Nevada. He hadn't seen her for a while and figured she ran to get a drink or something. As all the horses gathered together and everyone got acquainted, Symphony turned his head and tagged Watch back. "Looks like your it again!" Everyone turned and ran in different directions, except Canon. He was too much in shock from all the excitement, he wanted to have fun, but never knew how. OOC://omg, so sorry for the late post...

(It's ok, I've kinda fallen off the face of the earth lately! I got a 360 and it's kinda taken over my life. But just a little. XD)
Nevada tossed her head in acknowledgment of her herd leader, eying the filly with a cool gaze. Newcomer, hm? she asked Wachiwi, who zipped right on by as Symphony tagged her with his muzzle. "Looks like you're it again!", an act that caused the other four to scatter across the sloping hill in wanton abandonment. Only she and Canon remained still, watching the others gallivant about. She liked Canon, he was quiet and simple in his ways, though he always seemed frightened or at the very least, wary and cautious. "Would you like to join the game of tag? the Grey mare asked gently, lowering her head to briefly nibble along her right foreleg (where a horsefly was beginning his meal).
Wachiwi raced, the ground flying beneath her as she chased after Apollo, his tail a banner behind him. Zagging as he zigged, she nearly ran straight into him, just barely grazing his shoulder with her hip. Gotcha, Apollo! she whinnied, laughter in her voice. The tricolored filly wheeled on her hindlegs and bolted in the opposite direction, back towards the grey mare Nevada and Canon. She hid behind Canon, giggling breathlessly. "C'mon, Canon, Apollo's 'it'!" she urged, nudging his shoulder with her muzzle.

Apollo did a sharp turn and started running toward Canon. Canon stood wide eyed as the stallion ran closer. At the last minute he bolted to the right leaving Nevada to get tagged by Apollo's side. "Wow! I didn't know he could move that fast" Apollo said shocked. Canon kept running. It made him feel good to run fast, he started laughing. He ran circles around his brother, smiling, finally having some fun and not worrying. Symphony nipped at Canon tail playfully, happy his brother finally joined them in their game of tag.

Nevada let out a snort of surprise as Canon sidestepped just enough for Apollo to tag her. Now she was trapped in this infernal game of tag. Breaking into a slow lope, she moved carefully to avoid aggravating her bad leg, the one she'd cut up in the flood not that long ago. She brushed the memory aside and set her sights on Canon, the tricky stallion, announcing her intent. "I'm going to get you, Canon!" she trumpeted in a rare show of playfulness, eying the stallion as he ran circles around his brother. The gray mare sped up slightly, knowing her limits before she'd begin to limp, and reached her muzzle out to tag Canon, only to feint and bump him slightly with her hip. "Gotcha!" she sang triumphantly, slowing carefully to rest her old injury.
Wachiwi had trotted up behind Symphony, intent on tugging his tail as she'd seen Canon do before, only this time it would be to surprise the older horse. He seemed so gentle and kind, but still a strong leader at the same time. He'd been the first horse to ever be kind to her since Darksun...she shook her mane slightly to dispel the thought. She'd just as soon forget her time there. With a devilish grin, she creeped up behind the stallion and reached her muzzle out to snatch those strands....
[meh, needs a plot now.]

Canon continued to run in circles for a bit before chasing after Izzi. Symphony watched him run when he felt something brush his tail slightly. Turned his head to see the mare trying to be as quite as possible. He smiled at her. "You will have sneak up more quietly then that to scare me!" he said in a joking manner. Canon heard him and ran over after tagging Izzi. "He is really brave! He isn't scared of anything because he is my brother!" Symphony blushed a little. Izzi ran over and said "Nevada's it!" [/i]Symphony looked at Nevada. Something inside him felt weird. He thought she was a beautiful mare. He puffed out his chest and tried to look big, then started to run toward her to see what she would do.
