Two blurry forms were fleetingly making their way across harsh desert lands. One blur, a dark brownish blur, was darting from one place to another, in a skipping motion. The other, was a slow, calm reddish brown blur that kept making loud, deep noises. A couple of vultures were circling overhead, but only the red colt would look up at them, and soon after he had looked up at them, he'd yell at the filly.
"Robin! Stop running around everywhere! You're going to get thirsty and tired. Look around. Do you see anywhere to drink or rest?" Once again, the colton lifted his mug to the sky, where black birds circled, just waiting for him and his sister to perish in the scorching heat. As the filla ignored him and continued to skip here and gallop over there, Zephyr sighed. His sister was never going to learn. "Robin!," he huffed exasperatedly. Anyone observing the scene would've thought that the colt was at least two years older than his sister, but they were, in fact, twins.
Giggling, Robin pranced over to a funny looking cactus with big, prickly spines jutting out from all sides. She touched it with her hoof, and then turned on her heels, still laughing as she kicked up golden sand. Her brother was such a worrywart. So there were big black birds flying above them. So what? The dark hued flicka tossed her small dial and zig-zagged over to a tiny lizard. Once the scaly creature saw Robin heading for it, it slipped under the rock it was sitting on. Annoyed, the bella turned to her brother who'd just groaned at her,.
"Look what you did Zeph! You scared that silly animal right off it's rock!" Despite her slightly angry tone, Robin's eyes were glowing tih happiness. "You worry too much! We'll meet someone sometime, I just know it." Her soft, melodious voice drifted through the air in an attempt to get Zephyr to stop bugging her. When she saw that he was still rigid, she snorted and started calling out to the empty, golden lands.
"Hellooo!" Robin sang out, much to her brother embarrassment.

"Shush! If there is someone out there, they're going to think you're crazy! Rob-" Even as Zephyr said it, he knew that it was too late. His sister was going to say something stupid. Guess he ought to have been used to it by now.
"Hey! My brother's scared you want to eat him!" The flicka smiled and cast a mischievous glance at Zephyr, who only shook his head and pulled his ears back a bit.
"This is just my luck. Well, at least there's no one out here to hear that... I hope!" The thought was only half-hearted. Zephyr wanted someone, anyone to show up. Whether that be the most cold-hearted stallion or the kindest mare, he didn't care. As long as they didn't harm his sister, things would be perfectly okay.
