Lifting an ebony head, her ocean blue orbs scanned the horizon. Auds flicked forward instinctively for the sign of any sounds of life. There was the shiver of trees as the breeze passed through them, their green leaves stirring. It was dark in this forest, and very closed. It made the young mare anxious and even a little scared. Flicking an ivory-colored tail dismissively, she walked quietly on. She was alone in this place - or so she thought. Everything seemed quiet and lonesome, like she was the only creature about. She snorted. The sound was so loud that even the mare jumped back a few feet. I wish I weren't alone, So I wasn't chilled to the bone. Perhaps a horse will appear on the fold, So my heart won't be so cold.Eclipse paused in her lonely walk, almost enjoying the silence. But echoing through that silence was her confusion. Her loneliness. Her... need to be with other horses. She had never been one to live on her own, though her past was enough to make her do so. But never had the mare strayed from her herd lands, although she had once lived among the Cimarron. Desperately, Eclipse wanted to returned to the plains. Her pistons urged her to do so, but her mind was telling her to stay put. Confused and unrelented, the mare took a few steps back, unsure of what to expect. Looking around nervously, she flicked her white tail at a fly that nested itself on the back of her leg. Feeling nobody around still, a great shudder passed through her, making her black pelt ripple. [/ul]

An elegant black colt, soon to be a stallion in less than a year, trotted alone beside the rushing waters of the river. The brand on his rear was the only part of him that didn’t shimmer in the patches of dim sunlight as he passed under trees. It was rare he ever was alone, especially without his older brother but Thunder wanted to practice being by himself for when he got older and when he knew his brother wouldn’t be there for him anymore.
As he neared the pool of water where the waterfall met it and filled it evermore, Thunder came to a slow stop, his hooves barely touching the edges of the water. Dropping his head to catch a drink, the colt eyed a fellow herd member… or whom he thought was a fellow herd member. He hadn’t seen her before but she looked to be about his age. Her eyes seemed to be very uncertain and she didn’t look very steady. Thunder gave a nicker of greeting, tossing his elegant head in reassurance to the filly.

Eclipse nearly bolted at the sudden break of silence. Her auds swiveled wildly as she jumped onto her hind pistons. Feeling nothing but a simple jolt of shock, the young mare turned her dark blue orbs on the four-legged intruder. Jumping into action, she whirled to face him. Her black coat glimmered in the late sunlight (the little that managed to filter through the thick camoflauge). Her white mane flew behind her for a moment like a flag, before she suddenly settled. Her nostrils widened in terror as she took in the scent of this newcomer. Eclipse managed to relax slightly as she took in the smell of her own herd... perhaps. He smelled faintly of Darksun. But she was still frightened. Now that I know, My brain is at an all-time low. Sometimes I can't think, As gears fit together in a clink. The mare's muscles relaxed. He was around her age, but still a little too young to breed. So, therefore, he probably had no evil intentions. And if he had wished to fight, he would have challenged her in a place less... closed. There was no room for a skirmish here. So that, at least, relaxed her even more. Letting out a soft nicker, she tolted her head towards him, unsure of anything to say. She flicked her auds every which way and flared her nostrils to check to see if this stag had any friends. He didn't. Eclipse let out another nicker, this time a louder one, to show that she acknowlegded his presence. [/ul]

Thunder watched her for a moment, not making a move to her so she wouldn’t get more scared. She seemed like she wanted to leave and run away so Thunder kept his distance until she was ready for him to come closer. Ears pricked to a soft nicker and Thunder smiled and when she had let out another, Thunder tossed his head with yet another nicker, taking a few steps closer to her. She seemed that she didn’t know what to say so Thunder decided to speak first.
“Hello. I’m Thunder of the Darksun Herd.”
The elegant black stallion gave a very polite bow, something he’d learned from Thor. He always learned to be very polite to mares or foals and to be cautious to all stallions unless they were friend. One of the many ways of life Thor taught him. Thunder kept his soft smile of reassurance to help the filly be relaxed and unafraid of him.
“And who may be gracing me with their presence?”

The black mare perked her auds delicately, deep blue eyes troubled. He seemed gentle enough, and he was alone. This was enough information for her to relax completely. Flicking her tail like an advertising banner, she lowered her head slowly in greeting to the colt. He introduced himself as Thunder. Eclipse snorted and observed him for a very long moment. A handsome young one, around her age - perhaps a little younger. He has a black pelt, like hers. And this Thunder also mentioned that he was also a member of the Darksun herd. So, her suspicions were correct. She had just never seen him before. Deciding what to say, she raised her head and eyed the colt thoughtfully. Time to show you, And give you a clue. I will match your voice, And make my own noise.I'm Eclipse, she told him dutifuly. Her voice was clear and melodic, like a small church bell that had been waiting to be heard. The mare watched him for another moment before deciding to make her identity clearer to Thunder. I am also of the Darksun Herd. Although I was born a Cimarron. Why had she included that she was not originally a Darksun? Who knew? But Eclipse did not regret it, though another horse might have. She didn't care what others thought of her, because she knew differently. The mare had spent three years under an uncaring mother who constantly insulted her. That tends to wear down your self-consciousness after a while. And for Eclipse, it did. [/ul]
